Raised in Newark, New Jersey, Jeffrey Ross is an American stand-up comic, actor, writer and director. Ross is well-known for his many comic roasts of celebrities. He began his comic career in the New York City stand-up clubs and performed his first celebrity roast of
Steven Seagal
at the New York Friars Club in 1995.[1] Ross went on to be a regular participant in Friars Club roasts and later to join Comedy Central Celebrity Roast as a featured performer from 2009 to the present. He is known for wearing outlandish and sometimes controversial costumes at the roasts. Ross has hosted several other Comedy Central shows, including
