J Hus Tickets

Momodou Lamin Jallow (b. 27th May 1996), better known professionally as J Hus (short for Jallow Hustler) is a rapper, singer, songwriter and fashion designer hailing from Stratford, East London.

A signee of the dance music label, Black Butter Records, Hus is known for blurring the lines between the genres he grew up listening to—from R&B, Reggae, Afrobeats, UK Grime, Trap and Hip-Hop. He is often credited as one of the most diverse artists UK Rap has ever seen.

Stamping his entrance into the UK Rap scene through his freestyles on platforms such as BL@CKBOX, SB.TV and BBC Radio 1’s Fire In The Booth – often to the instrumentals of his inspiration, New York Legend 50 Cent – he showcased his ability to switch from his charismatically humorous melodies to a more a more fiery aggressive tempo, showcasing his distinctiveness and diversity early.

His breakthrough in the game can be attributed to his 2015 singles, “Dem Boy Paigon,” and “Lean and Bop,” both of which received viral success and featured on various radio playlists. He released his critically acclaimed debut mixtape, The 15th Day, in June 2015. In September 2015, Hus was seriously hospitalised following a stabbing incident whilst also being imprisoned for carrying an offensive weapon, leading to a short hiatus from music. Following a 7-month break, he came back with his debut EP Playing Sports in August 2016.

Hus got his first taste of chart success through his collaboration with Dave on 2017’s “Samantha,” as well as his Stormzy and Ghetts collaboration, “Bad Boys.”

His debut album, Common Sense, featuring the hit-singles “Friendly,” “Did You See,” “Common Sense,” “Bouff Daddy”, and “Spirit” released on May 12, 2017. The album did well debuting at Number 2 on the UK Album Charts, and spent 122 weeks in the Top 75. Hus won Best Album at the GRM Rated Awards and at the NME Awards, as well as receiving Album of the Year nominations at the MOBO Awards, BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize Awards. Since then, the album has become certified platinum and left a legacy—with some dubbing it as one of the best UK Rap albums of all time.

Following up the success of his ground-breaking debut, Hus released his sophomore EP Big Spang in May 2018 which saw all three tracks enter the UK Singles Charts.

In December 2018, J Hus was arrested in Stratford, and later sentenced to 8-months for carrying an offensive weapon, marking this as his fourth prison stint in 7-years. During his stint, close collaborator Dave released his debut studio album, PSYCHODRAMA, which featured J Hus on the sixth track, “Disaster,” marking their second time working together. The song was a critical success and saw J Hus achieve a Top 10 UK Single from inside his prison cell. He was later released on April 5, 2019, and surprised fans by being brought out at the London O2 by Drake.

After releasing his stoic Daily Duppy a week after his return, he followed up by dropping two acclaimed singles, “Must Be,” and “No Denying,” in late-2019 to close out the year, the former debuting at Number 5 on the UK Singles Charts.

J Hus' anticipated sophomore album Big Conspiracy leaked online in early January 2020 and was officially announced later within that week, dropping on the 24th. The album received critical acclaim and debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts despite the leaks, no visuals and no promotion. He also secured the GRM Rated Award’s Album of the Year, as well as nominations at the 2020 MOBO Awards for Best Album, Best Male Act and Best Hip-Hop Act. In May 2021, Hus took home a BRIT Award for Best Male Solo Artist.

Three years following his sophomore album, in January 2023, Hus revealed his return with his third studio album Beautiful and Brutal Yard. In May 2023, he officially began the rollout with the albums leading single “It’s Crazy” being released on 25th May, and “Who Told You”, his highly anticipated feature with Drake, in June 2023 – becoming a staple of Summer 2023.
