With the continued growth in the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts over the years, the number of different regional MMA promotions that have sprung up to develop young fighters, entertain local fans and give local fighters the chance to show off their skills has been enormous. Island Fights, however, offers fans residing around Florida or the southeastern United States something special. It bills itself as the Number One Pro MMA and Boxing Circuit in Florida. Fans who attend its events can see not only MMA fights but boxing matches as well. The promotion has also been growing in size and prestige of late, experiencing particularly impressive expansion in the year 2019. Building on that stellar growth, Island Fights already has its first upcoming event for 2020, Island Fights 62, ready to go. The event is set to take place on February 28, 2020 at the
Pensacola Fairgrounds
. To reserve your spot at this or any other Island Fights event and become a part of the mayhem, simply get your Island Fights tickets at StubHub today.
Island Fights is a regional MMA and boxing promotion with a roster of fighters from Florida and the southeastern US. Some of the fighters that audience members can see fighting and competing at live events are MMA Lightweight Champion Mike Davis, Middleweight Champion Sedriques Dumas, Taylor White, Chase Sherman and Dillon Cleckler, among many others.
Among its most recent handful of events, Island Fight fight cards can range in length from as few as six fights per event to as many as 11. Some events have nine fights on their card, though numbers on the lower end of that range are most common.
A look at a list of recent events put on Island Fights shows that the promotion is typically able to organize either one event every month or one event every other month. It has maintained roughly this schedule going back to 2017. Before 2017, Island Fights events would be rarer, sometimes occurring with gaps of as many as four or five months between events. This increase in its schedule is probably attributable to the growth that the promotion has enjoyed in recent years. Start times for each show can vary considerably as well, with some shows starting as early as 5:00 p.m. while others don’t begin until as late as 8:30 p.m.
Since Island Fights is a regional promotion based in Florida, nearly all of its events have taken place in that state. The only recent exceptions to this rule are Island Fight 56, which took place at the
Orange Beach Event Center
in Orange Beach, AL, and Island fights 60, which took place at the
Columbus Civic Center
in Columbus, GA. By far the most common host city for Island Fight events, however, has been Pensacola, FL. Events there have taken place at venues like the
Pensacola Bay Center
and the Hadji Shrine Temple.
