Iration
Iration is a reggae band formed in California, though all of its members are originally from Hawaii. The group has been active since 2004 and released six full-length albums in that time. Iration includes elements of rock and roll and dub stylings in some of its tracks. Iration's live performances bring fans from far and wide to enjoy its genre-bending musical innovations and powerful beats.
Although it didn't start as a cover band for a specific group, Iration did gain a small following by playing reggae covers of works from established artists. Fans describe the band as roots reggae, and critics note that the group's live shows are particularly enthralling. Most reviewers agree that Iration has something special when it comes to capturing the attention of partygoers who might otherwise be interested in drinking or dancing rather than listening to great reggae music. As the band was playing gigs around Isla Vista, it recorded its first EP
New Roots
.
No Time for Rest
became Iration's first full-length studio cut, and it was popular enough to top reggae music charts. In fact, this became something of a trend - all six of the band's full studio albums have placed in the single digits on the reggae charts.
Automatic
and
Hotting Up
both made it to No. 1 spots.
