Nicknamed the Hawkeye State, Iowa offers plenty of natural beauty and is home to nearly every kind of scenery imaginable. It also features great city life and is listed as the 30th most populous state in the nation.

The population is growing across metropolitan areas, with Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport sitting high as the three largest cities. Although lively in many ways, Iowa is also known to be a peaceful, serene state.

This state has produced plenty of musical talent, including an impressive list of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers like The Everly Brothers. Although bands such as Slipknot call Iowa home, other artists with strong country and opera roots reside here as well. Within the city of Walnut alone resides the National Traditional Country Music Association and the Walnut Country Opera House.

Iowa offers a range of festival genres and events, including the annual Buddy Holly Tribute festival and the Mill Creek Festival, a country music event that takes place each summer in the small town of Cherokee. Enthusiastic fans can also flock to Hinterland Music Festival, held in rural Saint Charles, for several days of music in the great outdoors. Attendees enjoy action-packed days and enchanting evenings under the stars.

Although Iowa offers a rich music scene, this state is also home to baseball teams like the Iowa Cubs and the Sioux City Explorers. Fans can also head to the Wells Fargo Arena and check out an Iowa Wild hockey game.
