What is the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego?

The iHeartRadio ALTer Ego is a one-day alternative rock concert hosted by the iHeartRadio music station. At this event, the most popular alt-rock bands come together for the entertainment of their fans.

Where will the ALTer Ego concert be held and when?

The iHeartRadio ALTer Ego concert will be hosted on January 19th annually. It will be hosted at the historic Forum in Inglewood, California.

What were some of the highlights of ALTer Ego?

Twenty-One Pilots decided to open up the event with a bang -- literally. The band brought a flaming car on stage, which it proceeded to perform around. Then, Drummer Josh Dun left his post to perform a backflip off of the piano. Finally, the group decided to end its session by having Tyler Joseph climb a small raised platform during an extended performance of Car Radio. The band Rise Against The Machine was set to play sometime after. The band dedicated one of its songs, Re-Education, to the Los Angeles teachers' strike that was occurring at the time. At one point during its set, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello decided to show up in the middle of it and play How Long, playing his guitar with his teeth! The night continued on with plenty of epic sing-alongs and plenty of heart-to-heart moments with the fans. This couldn't paint a clearer picture of what it's like to attend an ALTer Ego concert.

What artists can I expect to show up and perform at ALTer Ego 2020?

If you're a big fan of alt-rock, then you already have a good idea of who might be making an appearance at the ALTer Ego and who won't. You can expect an appearance from Billie Eilish, Black Keys, Blink-182, The Lumineers, Rex Orange County, and Shaed.

You can also look forward to some past artists making an occasional return (or surprise) appearance. Some of these artists could include Mumford & Sons, Walk The Moon, Dashboard Confessional, Beck and Cage the Elephant. It's also entirely possible that an artist that has never been to ALTer Ego will pop in for some fun!

What were some of the most memorable songs played during the last event?

Because of the antics that often accompany rock concerts, the most memorable moments that happen at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego are ones that typically happen in the middle of a song or two. This makes the music an even bigger event highlight. Remember when Twenty-One Pilots torched a car? That happened during their performance of the band's hit single Jumpsuits. Tom Morello made that guest appearance of his by performing the song How Long with his teeth. When Muse was finishing its set, the band had everyone at the Forum sing the song Uprising in unison -- symbolizing a true and very musical uprising. Bishop Briggs, the first female to headline the show, did so very successfully, opening with a gritty rendition of 2016's "The Way I Do," followed by hits "Hallowed Ground," "White Flag," "Wild Horses," "Baby" and the breakout hit "River."
