The Houston Dynamo is one of the premier soccer clubs in the United States. The club was founded in 2015, during the first major wave of MLS expansion. A previous soccer club known as the Dynamos had played in Houston through the 1980s and 1990s. The new Houston Dynamo changed its name from the San Jose Earthquakes when they relocated from San Jose after the city failed to build a soccer-specific stadium. Soon after it began playing, the Houston Dynamo stormed onto the scene with back-to-back championships in its first two years. The club beat the
New England Revolution
both times: 1-1 on extra time penalty kicks in 2006 and then a close 2-1 battle in 2007. Houston also won the country’s oldest soccer tournament, the
US Open Cup
, in 2018 with a 3-0 victory over the
Philadelphia Union
. Brian Ching, who played for the club between 2006 and 2013, is Houston’s all-time leading scorer with 56 goals in 169 games. If you want to catch an exciting, action-packed soccer game, then you should purchase Houston Dynamo tickets at StubHub.

''Houston finished in 10th place in the Western Conference with 40 points and a record of 12 wins, 18 losses and four draws, missing out on the MLS playoffs. The club started the season strong with six wins in eight games, including a 2-1 victory against FC Dallas, but it could not maintain the momentum throughout the entire season.'
'The Texas Derby is the official name of the Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas rivalry. The two clubs have played each other multiple times a year since 2006 in the MLS regular season and, sometimes, the MLS playoffs and the US Open Cup. The winner of the annual series receives a replica of an 18th-century mountain howitzer known as El Capitán. The rivalry has been closely contested throughout its history. Houston dominated the early part of the rivalry, but FC Dallas has had a strong edge since 2013.'
'Tab Ramos became the club’s fourth full-time head coach on October 25, 2019. Before he was a coach, Ramos represented the United States in the 1990, 1994 and 1998 World Cups, for which he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. His playing career spanned more than 270 games in the United States, Spain and Mexico. He was head coach of the US Under-20 team between 2011 and 2019.'
