Washington Capitals
since 2005. Their history on the ice stretches well before that though since they have been a professional team since 1938 at which time they were affiliated with the
Boston Bruins
. Today, the massive popularity of the Hershey Bears amongst area hockey fans has led to Hershey, Pennsylvania, being called the best minor-league hockey town in America. Going to Bears games is such a part of the local culture in Hershey that season tickets get passed down from generation to generation. The team is so popular that their games often break attendance records. The devotion of their fans is rewarded by the team having regularly made it to the Calder Cup Finals as well as winning multiple championships throughout their history. The longest stretch of home games for the 2019-2020 season took place from December 7th to December 22nd of 2019 when the team played five straight home games. Also that month, the Bears played a total of eight home games altogether. The most games altogether for 2019-2020 have been in January which featured a total of 14 games.'
'With the Washington Nationals being the parent team of the Hershey Bears, it stands to reason that some of the players that won the Stanley Cup for the Nationals would have come originally from the Bears. In fact, 14 of the 27 players that were part of the 2017-18 Stanley Cup-winning Washington Nationals roster had been members of the Hershey Bears. Those 14 players were Braden Holtby, Philipp Grubauer, Pheonix Copley, Jay Beagle, Travis Boyd, Andre Burakovsky, Chandler Stephenson, Jakub Vrana, Nathan Walker, Tom Wilson, Madison Bowey, John Carlson, Christian Djoos and Dmitry Orlov.'
