''The Hartford Wolf Pack is one of the oldest still-running franchises in the AHL. It can claim to share a lineage with the four-time Calder Cup winner Providence Reds dating back to 1926. The modern Hartford Wolf Pack was founded in 1997 when Madison Square Garden Corporation bought the defunct Binghamton Rangers (the former Providence Reds) and moved the franchise to Hartford. Two years later, Hartford won the city’s first Calder Cup championship, beating the Rochester Americans in six games. The team briefly changed its name to the Connecticut Whale between 2010 and 2013 as a sort of homage to the Hartford Whalers after it was bought by the Whalers Sports & Entertainment group. However, the team changed its name back to the Wolf Pack after Global Spectrum and MSG took control again. Brad Smyth is Hartford’s career leader in both points (365) and goals (184). Ken Gernander, who ranks second in goals as a player and served as head coach between 2007 and 2017, had his No. 12 jersey retired. You can purchase Hartford Wolf Pack tickets at StubHub.'

New York Islanders
.
