from Three Dog Night embark on a journey to dozens of major cities across the United States to bring back the glory days of yesteryear. The tour was named in honor of The Turtles' Top Ten hit from 1965.

Happy Together Tour Origins

The first tour took place in 1985 featuring The Turtles. However, it was not until 2010 that the tour would become an annual event. Each year, a number of '60s era bands joined The Turtles on stage. Past performances have included the talents of Ron Dante, one of the original Archies, who climbed the pop charts with Sugar, Sugar. The group formed to represent the popular comic book gang. Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders fame also appeared to the delight of female audience members. Songs performed by Lindsay included the memorable band's hits, Arizona, Indian Reservation and Kicks. Upon Paul Revere's death in 2014, his son Jamie continues touring with the Raiders band who was popular for its comedic antics and Revolutionary War costumes.

joined the ensemble of bands. Some of the group's many Top Ten singles included Along Comes Mary, Cherish, Never My Love and Windy. The group disbanded until the 1990s when it came back together and embarked on solo tours. Chuck Negron, from Three Dog Night, has participated in many of the tours over the years. The original trio was established in 1967. During its long career, the band had five top 10 albums and numerous chart-topping singles. Some of its popular singles included Celebrate, Joy to the World, One and Pieces of April.

Gary Puckett & The Union Gap have participated in many of the Happy Together Tours. Some of the Puckett's top billboard songs included This Girl is a Woman Now, Woman, Woman and Young Girl. The Partridge Family

. Although the group once sang a number of Everly Brothers songs, it was best known for Indian Lake and Hair, which was the name and theme song of one of the very first rock operas.

Make plans to see the concert at the Little River Casino in Manistee, Mich., The Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Ill., or the Civic Center in Peoria, Ill. Other tour dates include a stop at the Paramount Theatre in Denver, Colo.

How long do the concerts last?

At many locations, the event does not begin to get underway until 8:00 p.m. Consider the number of bands and performers participating in the tour. Each band or performer plays multiple hits from yesterday. As such, the concert may well extend into the wee hours of the morning.
