Haim sprung onto the indie rock scene in 2014 with
Days Are Gone,
the debut album. Since then, the trio of sisters-vocalist and bassist Este, lead guitarist and vocalist Danielle and Alana Haim on keyboards, backup guitar and vocals-have built up an international following, even scoring a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2015. The band's sound has been described as folk-rock with a touch of R&B thrown in, drawing favorable comparisons to the iconic '70s band
Fleetwood Mac
-though the sisters claim to have been influenced by more recent artists, namely
Beyoncé
, whose song XO was covered by the band on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.
''
The sisters hail from Los Angeles where they grew up performing with their parents in a casual group they dubbed Rockinhaim. Though they formed their own group in 2007, shortening the band's name to simply Haim, they didn't consider it a professional career until five years later when they released their first single. Their songs have been featured on several movie soundtracks, including
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1
and
The Divergent Series: Insurgent.
In addition to headlining its own shows, Haim has opened for Taylor Swift, the xx and Rihanna, among others. Their second album,
Something to Tell You
, was released in 2017.

'As Haim's discography is relatively short, its live performances don't usually run more than an hour. On occasion, it'll bring back its opening act for a shared encore performance that stretches out the running time a bit more. If you're interested in whoever is opening for Haim, prepare to spend at least 2 1/2 hours at the show.'
'
Falling and Don't Save Me, two favorites from
Days Are Gone,
make frequent appearances on Haim's setlists, as does Want You Back from the band's sophomore album. They might add in a few covers here and there as well (some 2019 appearances included Paula Cole's I Don't Want to Wait and Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?). Some other songs you might hear include The Wire, Forever, Nothing's Wrong, Right Now, If I Could Change Your Mind and Walking Away.
''
Sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim make up the band. Though the middle sister also toured with
Jenny Lewis
for a brief time, she returned to the fold in time for Haim to record the band's first album.
''In nearly seven years of touring, Haim has performed in several different venues, ranging from the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., to the Agganis Arena in Boston, Mass. In 2018, they performed a couple of sets at Coachella, and the band was one of the headliners for Chicago's Pitchfork Music Festival in the summer of 2019. As Haim has become popular, you can expect the venues to be large enough to accommodate a growing number of fans.'

Haim is scheduled to headline the 14th annual Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago's Union Park in July 2019. Other acts include the
Isley Brothers
, Belle and Sebastian and
Robyn
. Tickets to this event can be found at StubHub. In addition, Haim's website has posted that the band is working on a new album, so it's reasonable to expect that they'll be touring again sometime in the near future.
