'Hailing from Kalamazoo, Mich., Greensky Bluegrass is a five-piece band. Its sound combines elements of bluegrass and rock, and live shows are often accompanied by a full light show and electric effects. The result represents the possibilities of what can happen when old meets new.'

In the fall of 2000, Greensky Bluegrass joined the bluegrass scene. The original members of the group hadn't exclusively focused on bluegrass music before joining together, and they brought with them many different skills and interests. The group's first release was
Less Than Supper
in 2004. Taking the stage at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition in 2006 allowed the band to gain more widespread attention. The 2006 performance was the talk of the town, and the group got another invite to the festival in 2007 as one of the headliners. Since the first album, Big Blue Zoo has been the band's record label, helping the group churn out 10 total albums. Greensky Bluegrass's discography includes 2006's
Tuesday Letter
, 2008's
Five Interstates
, 2011's
Handguns
and 2019's
All For Money
. With this latest album, the title is a bit ironic since the musicians have been much more focused on musicality and being true to themselves versus becoming the latest commercial hit. What the group has been doing has been working at it's hit No. 1 on the
Billboard
Top Bluegrass Albums Chart with
If Sorrows Swim
and No. 3 with
Shouted, Written Down & Quoted
.

The band continues to tour around the country, and it sometimes travels abroad to places like Puerto Morelos in Mexico. Stateside, the group is planning on visiting venues such as the
Chicago Theatre
,

''A setlist could vary depending on whether you're seeing the band in a solo performance, as part of a collaboration or as part of a festival. Expect to hear songs like Can't Stop Now, Beauty, Do It Alone and Can't Make Time. Since the band has made 10 albums, there are many songs to draw from when putting together a setlist.'
'Current members are Dave Bruzza on guitar, Paul Hoffman on mandolin, Michael Bolt on banjo, Anders Beck on dobro and Mike Devol on the bass. Bruzza, Hoffman and Bolt were original members alongside Chris Carr and Al Bates.'
'
In 2007, Greensky Bluegrass recorded its third album,
Live at Bell's
, at Bell's Brewery. Bell's Brewery is a brewing company based in Kalamazoo, the hometown of many of the members of the band. This album is unique as a live recording of a Greensky Bluegrass performance. The sixth song in the track is a cover of the Talking Heads song Road to Nowhere. Most of the other songs were original works written by one or some combination of the band members.
