Great American Music Hall

Great America Music Hall

The Great American Music Hall isn't just another concert hall out in the San Francisco Bay area. The club on O'Farrell Street was voted sixth in the Best Clubs in America list compiled by Rolling Stone magazine in 2013. San Francisco's grandest and oldest club originally opened in 1907. While it's been through several different incarnations and names throughout the years, becoming the Great America Music Hall in 1972, the one thing that has never changed is the quality entertainment found there. Since then, the hall has hosted an incredible array of artists from

Van Morrison

,

Arcade Fire

,

Patti Smith

,

Godspeed You Black Emperor

and many more. The best Great America Music Hall tickets are available at StubHub.

What is the Great American Music Hall's seating capacity?

The Great America Music Hall can seat up to 470.

Is there a way to guarantee seating in the hall?

The only way to secure seating for your event is to buy a dinner ticket for your event. Seating is based on crowd size and not a guarantee unless the event is billed specifically as 'seated.' There are ADA accessible seats available each show, and to claim one, the venue suggests buying a ticket and then contacting the box office to make your request for the ADA accessible seat.

What's the difference between the different ticket offerings?

Any ticket purchased for either the Great American Music Hall or Slim's, the live music nightclub opened by R&B artist Boz Scaggs, unless otherwise stated, are general admission. There are no assigned seats and in the open room, you're free to go where you like. The number of tables and chairs made available on the main floor for a given event will depend on crowd size. Guests are advised not to go with the expectation of guaranteed seating. Shows billed at 'seated' means that they will be chairs, but even then, it's still general admission so spaces are first come, first served. 'Advanced' tickets signify tickets bought in advance of the event while 'door' tickets purchased within the 90 minutes before the doors open. The 'Dinner' ticket is a regular show ticket with an extra price for a three-course prix fixe meal (the meal is a salad, entree and dessert). 'Priority' admission is when the doors open and the upstairs balcony section is seated. Finally, there are VIP or meet and greet specials that will detail all components included.

Is there parking nearby?

There are multiple areas around the Great American Music Hall for parking. The closest three are the 819 Ellis Street Garage, Express Parking, which is valet parking and California Parking. All three locations are within a quarter mile of the venue for great convenience.

What food and drink items are offered at the hall?

Aside from the dinner shows offered at the venue for some events, there are concessions and a full bar available at Great American Music Hall events.
