Gracie Abrams (born September 7, 1999) is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, who started a rise to fame for video snippets of her songs released through her Instagram. She’s also the daughter of the film director and composer J.J. Abrams.
After having only three tracks publicly available on her SoundCloud: “And She Will Miss You,” “blue,” and “i kinda miss you,” Abrams released her debut track, “Mean It,” alongside an accompanying music video on October 24, 2019. A month later, Gracie would release “Stay” as the final release of the year.
February 20, 2020, would see the release of “21,” the lead single for Gracie’s debut EP, minor. Before minor went out into the world on July 14, Abrams released two more singles for the EP: “I miss you, I’m sorry,” on April 8, 2020, followed by “Long Sleeves,” on May 20.
On October 1, 2021, Abrams released “Feels Like” as the lead single of her next project. The single was followed by “Rockland,” which released on October 22. Abrams' sophomore EP, This Is What It Feels Like, came out into the world on November 12, 2021, with “The Bottom” releasing as a single, accompanied by a music video.
With two EPs and a handful of singles in her discography, Gracie would begin working on a debut album. “Block me out,” released on April 8, 2022, would be the first single of the era, however, the song wouldn’t make it to the final version of the tracklist of Abrams' debut album.
With that in mind, Gracie oficially released three singles for her debut album: “Difficult,” on October 7, 2022, “Where do we go now?,” on January 13, 2022, and “Amelie,” on February 10, 2022. Good Riddance, her first studio album, came out on February 24, 2023.
On June 16, 2023, Gracie released a deluxe version of Good Riddance, which featured, besides all the songs in the original album, the previously released single “Block me out,” as well as three new tracks: “Unsteady,” “405,” and “Two people.”
