The world of music is a massive and exciting one, filled to the brim with different styles and genres that excite various emotions and feelings within the listener, and no genres are more unique in the scene itself than those of jazz, blues, and R&B. These three genres exhibit the most range in the music world and each have deep and rich histories that have taken to the place that they are today. While not quite as popular as certain other genres such as rock or pop, these three almost have their own world of music that rock, pop, or any other style couldn't quite match up to. Jazz, blues, and R&B are all distinct and uniquely different from the other, but tend to fall within similar worlds and have artists that cross over between them from time to time. Throughout history there have always been a spat of artists who show innate skill in the styles of blues, jazz, and R&B, and today's music scene is definitely not short on talent or artists that know how to give their audience a good time. So if you're in the market for some good music and a great time, then you can't go wrong with checking out any of these artists at any of their upcoming shows: Michael Buble, Hugh Laurie, Diana Ross, John Legend, Galactic, Boyz II Men, Michael McDonald, T.I., and even specialized events such as the Old School Jam, World Blues, 2013 Voodoo Music Experience, and so much more! There's no end to the awesome music provided by artists ranging from jazz to R&B and everything in between, and now is the perfect time to head out and catch them perform live!

History

With three genres as unique as jazz, blues, and R&B, it can be expected that they each have a deep and rich history that spans back multiple decades. Blues as a whole began to emerge as a distinct style around the end of the 19th century, with the first blues music sheet being published back in 1908. The style came from the southern United States and evolved into a multitude of sub-genres such as: Chicago Blues, Delta, Jump, and Piedmont. Electric blues became the style of choice post-world war II, but all variations of blues live on to this day. R&B originally began around the 40's, with the term popularized as a way to describe a style of music that was directed towards urban African Americans. R&B as a whole evolved over the years in both the term and style, with both changing with the decades. Jazz, however, while really hitting it's stride as a genre beginning around the start of the 20th century, has deep roots carried over from African styled music that was combined with European elements to create the style that would grow into one of the biggest in the world. Jazz as a whole has developed and grown through many stages and styles that reflect local cultures in music such as: soul jazz, modal jazz, New Orleans jazz, swing, and many, many more. With artists such as Louis Armstrong leading the scene in terms of musical bliss, the jazz scene grew into a behemoth that hasn't stopped evolving.

Life As A Music Lover

Today's music scene is a bountiful one that makes all types of musical styles freely available to any and all, and now there are more artists touring to support and share their music than ever before. It truly is a great time to be a music lover, as there are so many different variations and styles of a single genre that there's something for everyone no matter what you're feeling. While artists such as Louis Armstrong, Chubby Checkers, Miles Davis, and others helped refine and evolve these genres to become that powerhouses that they are today, current artists continue to broaden the horizons and push the envelope of music to see just what can be done with music.

Introducing New Fans

Bringing new fans into the fold of any of these music scenes should be a cinch, as all it really takes is introducing some of the famous artists of the past and present. Everyone has heard of Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, as these individuals are icons on the music scene for their work on expanding the sounds to what they are today. After listening to a couple artists, anyone with a mild taste for jazz, blues, and R&B should be rearing to check out any live performance

Experiences

There's nothing quite like heading out to see one of the current allstars in the music scene take to the stage and jam out any of their hits, and when it's anyone in the blues, jazz, or R&B styles you know that you're in for quite a show. Seeing these artists do what they do best on the stage is an experience like none other, and one that you'll definitely want to be a part of again and again.
