Fox Theatre Detroit
The Fox Theatre is located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Opened in 1928, this beautiful theater was originally a movie theater. It was added to the National Historic Landmark list in 1989. Fox Theatre is absolutely stunning, from the black and white marble floors to the 13-foot colored glass chandelier. Some of the most famous musicians in history have played at the Fox Theatre. The seating capacity is 5,174 people. The mezzanine seats are some of the best seats in the theater, but they are typically more expensive because they are considered premium seats.
There are two sources for public transportation to the theater. The Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation, also known as SMART Bus, has numerous stops near the theater. There is also the QLINE by M-1 RAIL, which is a streetcar on a loop that stops in 12 different location throughout downtown Detroit.
There is not specific on-site parking for the Fox Theatre, but there are six parking garages and parking lots within one block of the theater. There is typically a fee for use of these parking locations.
There is a full bar, and there are a few snacks you can purchase, such as popcorn and candied almonds.
