The New York Mets drafted Seminole Paul Wilson as the first overall pick in the 1994 MLB draft. Wilson is the fourth ACC player to be the first overall pick in the draft. ''Mike Martin, Jr. assumes the helm as a first-year coach for the Seminoles in 2020. However, Martin is no stranger to Florida State Seminoles baseball. Martin started as catcher in the 1993, 1994 and 1995 seasons, with the latter two resulting in two of the team's 23 College World Series appearances. For 22 years, Martin served as an assistant coach at the school. The junior Mike Martin replaces his father and legendary head coach Mike Martin, Sr. In his 40-year coaching tenure, Mike Martin, Sr. amassed 2,029 wins against just 736 losses and four ties. He is a 2019 inductee into the College Baseball Hall of Fame. The National College Baseball Writers Coach of the Year award now bears his name.'

Dick Howser Stadium
has been the home for Florida State Seminoles baseball since March 28, 1983, when it opened as Seminole Stadium. In 1988, the year following Howser's death, the school renamed the stadium for its former All-American. In addition to being a Florida State alum, Howser managed the Kansas City Royals to the team’s 1985 World Series championship. Dick Howser Stadium holds a capacity of 6,700. Straightaway center field is 400 feet while the lengths in left field and right field run 340 feet and 320 feet, respectively. The power alleys span 365 feet on the left side and 360 feet on the right. Florida State lost its first game in the stadium, 15-5, to the
