Florence and the Machine tickets

'Florence and the Machine Tickets'

'

British indie rock band Florence and the Machine was formed in London in 2007, headed by vocalist Florence Welch. Their debut album,

Lungs,

hit stores in July 2009, and the band picked up the Critics' Choice prize at the

BRIT Awards

that same year. The sound has been described as a mixture of rock and soul, with a sprinkling of other genres thrown in from time to time. Florence and the Machine is best known for Welch's singular vocal style as well as her highly recognizable flame-red hair. In 2015, Welch became the first British female musician to headline the

Glastonbury Festival

in the 21st century.

Florence Welch joined forces with keyboardist Isabella Machine Summers when both women were just teenagers, with additional band members Robert Ackroyd, Chris Hayden, Mark Saunders and Tom Monger climbing aboard later on. When

Lungs

made its appearance in 2009, two of its singles had already become popular both in the UK and Stateside. Their second album,

Ceremonials,

was released in 2011. The following year, a single from

Ceremonials

called Seven Devils appeared in a trailer for the second season of HBO's hit series

Game of Thrones

. Florence and the Machine has been nominated for a total of six Grammy Awards, and

Lungs

took home the BRIT Award for Best British Album in 2010. When the band appeared at Australia's

Splendour in the Grass

festival that same year, the performance drew an estimated 28,000 people (of the roughly 33,000 who attended the festival). Their album

High as Hope

was released in June 2018.

'

'What can I expect from a Florence and the Machine concert?'

'Welch's style is highly confessional and communicative, with an emphasis on vocals and wordplay. She will often encourage the audience to tuck away their cell phones and other devices, the better to live fully in the moment.'

'How long does a Florence and the Machine concert usually last?'

'From the time the doors open until the last song is played, expect to spend about four hours total at the venue. The first hour is usually devoted to the opening act, with roughly the same amount of time devoted to switching over the equipment afterward. Once Florence and the Machine take the stage, they'll likely play for at least another two hours.'

'What does a Florence and the Machine setlist look like?'

'

The band's breakout hit, Dog Days Are Over, is a fan favorite and will almost always make an appearance. Aside from that, expect highlights from the band's albums - including tracks from

High as Hope

, such as Patricia, Sky Full of Song and Hunger.
