Emo Nite background

While working at a creative agency, Morgan Well, Morgan Freeman, Freed, Babs Szado and T.J. Petracca came up with the idea for Emo Nite by accident. They went out to a karaoke night one evening and had so much fun that they decided that they should designate a day of the week to have a night like that. They decided to go to a bar, play music they enjoy and kick back with their friends. Originally, they thought that 10 or so of their friends would come, but it turned into so much more.

Since they worked in digital strategy, they created a post on social media and forgot about it. When they went to the bar the first evening, there was a long line of people waiting for the event that hadn�t even started yet. They had such a fun night that they decided to do it next month, and the line was twice as long. Since then, it's all history.

Emo Nite milestones

Since the very first event, a multitude of magazines, websites and television shows have raved about Emo Nite. Paper Magazine created a documentary about the craze of Emo Nite and how people enjoy reliving their youth by listening to music from the yearly 2000s.

MTV, Teen Vogue, and Forbes have featured Emo Nite as the number of attendees continues to rise. Emo Nite has also been mentioned by influencers as well as on the Grammy's Red Carpet.

Emo Nite hosts

The hosts of Emo Nite change quite frequently as it is quite exciting as an attendee to see a new host each event. For the three-year anniversary event, popular artists performed the entire day. Machine Gun Kelly, Demi Lovato and The Chainsmokers performed their hit songs as well as covers for a little bit of a blast to the past.
