La'Reonte Wright relocated with his mom and siblings from his birthplace of Flint, Michigan, to Sin City when he was just four years old. At the tender age of eight, he started rapping with DaFuture - a group comprised of his brother and a friend. At the time, his mom penned his lyrics. He was privy to the music world also because of his mother's connections as a concert promoter. In 2010, competed in the Sheikh Music Rip the Mic contest and won. The triumph didn't go unnoticed, especially by the Funk Volume record label. He inked a deal with the independent label in 2012. His first album, Smokeout Conversations, arrived a few months later. The album landed the No. 42 spot on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and scored the No. 8 slot on the Heatseekers Albums chart. A mixtape, Free SmokeOut Conversations, followed, which netted 170,000 downloads. The album proved to be a hit and led to a headlining tour that crisscrossed the nation. He toasted the end of 2012 by participating in the Funk Volume Tour 2012, sharing the stage with Jarren Benton, Hopsin and Swizz. Around that same time, he issued The First Agreement EP, which entered the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at No. 41 and the Top Rap Albums chart at No. 25. He continued to issue mixtapes, including The Golden Age (2013) and BriLLiant Youth EP (2014). His latest studio album is The Growing Process (2015).
