The Denver Outlaws began its first year as a team by setting a Major League Lacrosse attendance record in its first game. The team was a first-year expansion team and won the Western Conference Championship while also sending five of its players to the MLL All-Star game. During the first nine seasons of the team's existence, the Outlaws reached the playoffs each year along with posting winning records. The 2013 season turned out to be a massive one for the team when the Outlaws won every single game of the season, becoming the first undefeated team in the history of the league. During the next season, the Outlaws captured its first Major League Lacrosse Championship and won the Steinfeld Trophy. The team won its 2nd Steinfeld Trophy in the 2016 season against the Ohio Machine. The head coach for the team is Tony Seaman and served as general manager of the team prior to being the head coach. Before joining up with the Outlaws, Seaman coached for 28 years at the college level. The current general manager of the team is Jon Cohen. The rest of the coaching staff is rounded out by John Grant Jr. who serves as the offensive coordinator and Chris Spangler who acts as the strength and conditioning coach. In the 2014 championship game against the Rochester Rattlers, the Outlaws outscored the Rattlers in the 4th quarter as Drew Snider scored the game-winning goal with about a minute left in the game. The final score for the game ended up being 12-11. For the 2nd Steinfeld Trophy, the team bested the Ohio Machine for 19-18 victory after coming up from behind. At halftime, the Outlaws were down by 7 but then proceeded to take the lead in the game during the first 18 minutes of the 2nd half. The Rattlers then came back to tie the game before the Outlaws scored a winning goal with just 13 seconds left on the clock.

For the 2019 MLL All-Star Game, seven Denver Outlaw players were brought on.
