His career encompassed five decades and 27 studio albums as a pioneer of glam rock, pop and electronic music. Over his long career, Bowie sold more than 140 million albums worldwide. He received 17 nominations from the Grammy Awards and won seven times. As recognition for his lifelong pursuit of artistic greatness, he also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 Grammy Awards. A Bowie Celebration honors the work of David Bowie with performances from his friends and collaborators.'

'A Bowie Celebration features 10 different past alumni from the David Bowie band. Mike Garson, a pianist, keyboard player and band member, anchors the tour. As Bowie's most frequent collaborator, he was part of more than 20 albums and 1,000 concerts with David Bowie. Gerry Leonard, a music director and guitarist, collaborated with Bowie on the albums Heathen and Reality. Guitarist Earl Slick collaborated with Bowie between 1974 and 1976 and again starting in 2000. Guitarist Carmine Rojas toured with Bowie throughout the 1980s. Mark Plat co-produced the album Earthling and spent three years as a guitarist and bassist. A Bowie Celebration also includes the work of other Bowie collaborators such as Bernard Fowler, Joe Sumner, Corey Glover, Lee John and Gaby Moreno.'
