'About Cowboy Mouth'

'

Hailing from the musical wonderland that is New Orleans, Louisiana, Cowboy Mouth burst into existence in 1990, a pioneering hard rock music project that was spearheaded by the musically gifted duo Fred LeBlanc and John Thomas Griffith. The band gained recognition while performing on the competitive local Louisiana music circuit, eventually picking up a recording deal with Valley Entertainment, who helped bring the Cowboy Mouth sound to excited fans throughout North America during the band's early years. Cowboy Mouth would bubble just under the surface until the mid 90s, when they picked up their first big label recording deal with MCA Records, and in 1996 the band released their magnum opus early work, Are You With Me?, which would grace multiple music charts as its hard hitting sound helped build a worldwide fan base. The band's work would start to break into other avenues of the media mainstream, with their work being featured on a Bruce Springsteen tribute album, on the cult hit stoner comedy Half Baked, as well as their work dominating the soundtrack for major motion picture Underneath.

The band would go on to record the LPs Mercyland and Easy in 1998 and 2000, respectively, balancing their time between the studio and the touring road as Cowboy Mouth fever crescendoed and the band was in high demand at major music venues all across the USA and Canada. The band was able to top their 90s popularity as they pushed their award winning sound into the 00s, producing some of their strongest pieces which they shared on major television appearances on hallmark shows such as Live with Regis and Kelly and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Today, the Cowboy Mouth lineup features founders Fred LeBlanc and John Thomas Griffith on drums, guitar, and vocals, and are joined by accomplished musicians Matt Jones and Brian Broussard, who fill out the band on rhythm guitar and bass, respectively.
