Commonwealth Stadium - Edmonton
Located in the McCauley district of downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Commonwealth Stadium is the official home of the
Edmonton Eskimos
of the
Canadian Football League
. It was also briefly the home of the Edmonton Drillers of the North American Soccer League between 1979 and 1981. The stadium opened on July 15, 1978, in time to host the
Commonwealth Games
between August 3 and 12 of the same year. The games involved 46 nations competing in 38 events from all across the British Commonwealth. It has also hosted the CFL championship, the Grey Cup, five times over its long history. In addition to sporting events, the stadium has hosted

The Edmonton Light Rail Transit service will take you directly to Stadium Station, which is right across the street from the stadium. Edmonton also operates numerous bus services throughout the city.
On-site parking is very limited, but you can find parking lots in the Northlands area. The Edmonton Expo Center, located several blocks away from the stadium, has 3,800 parking spots, all connected to the light rail transit system. Parking restrictions are in place for residential neighborhoods surrounding the stadium. A drop-off area is located on the curb lane of 112 Avenue eastbound from 95 Street to Stadium Road. Public transportation is encouraged.
Tailgating takes places at the pre-arranged EndZone Tailgate Party located near the stadium. The party features a cash bar, barbecue and other food options.
Accessible parking is limited and only available on a first-come-first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to use pre-arranged transportation. The stadium itself is wheelchair accessible. Gates 2, 6 and 11 are all designed with wheelchairs in mind. An accessible elevator is right by gate 11, and accessible seating is available all throughout the stadium. Service animals are permitted as well.
Suites are available on a single-game or season-long basis. The concourse suites, located on the east and west stadium concourse, feature a private restroom, couch and bar seating, televisions and enough room for 10 to 16 people. The south suites, located on the south end of the stadium, feature a large patio space, high-top tables, patio heating and enough room for 30 to 50 people. Both the Director's Club lounge and the Director's Club suite, in addition to their luxurious accommodations, provide access to the exclusive Director's Club bar.
