What is the plot of Come From Away?

Immediately after 9/11, the world was in chaos. It was unknown what was going on, or if more terrorist attacks would occur. The day after 9/11 is when

Come From Away

is set. It takes place in an unlikely small town that seems far removed from the rest of the world, Gander Newfoundland. Thirty-eight airplanes were rerouted to Gander when 9/11 occurred and airspace was being shut down, leaving over 7,000 people stranded in this small town. In a town with a population barely over 7,000, this was a huge and sudden influx. These passengers had nowhere to go and no means to go home.

Come From Away

tells the story of how the town of Gander came together with these stranded passengers to make the best of the situation.
