The history of the Columbus Crew owes its course to the drive of the Crew’s passionate and persistent fans. After a 14-month long legal battle and an emotional, #SavetheCrew campaign, the beloved Crew remained in Columbus. Owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam, who also own the Cleveland Browns, and former Crew team doctor Peter H. Edwards Jr purchased the Crew from former owner Anthony Precourt. The Crew will continue to play at
MAPFRE Stadium
while they await the completion of their new home in the Arena District of Columbus, Ohio. In the Arena District, the Crew will become the new neighbors of the
Columbus Clippers
, who play in
Huntington Park
and the
Columbus Blue Jackets
, who play in
Nationwide Arena
. The Columbus Crew is one of the 10 inaugural teams formed by the MLS, and the team was awarded to Columbus on May 10, 1994. To feel the passion behind this remarkable story for yourself, purchase your Columbus Crew tickets at StubHub.

'Toronto FC and the Crew have played each other for the Trillium Cup since it was created in 2008. The cup takes its name from the flower that is both the state flower of Ohio and the province flower of Ontario. The Hell Is Real Rivalry has its roots in Columbus’ near loss of the Crew. It takes its name from a Bible-based sign in a farm field between Columbus and Cincinnati.'
