Colorado Rapids Tickets

In 1996, the Colorado Rapids played their first game as one of 10 founding teams in Major League Soccer. Led by Dominic Kinnear, Steve Trittschuh, Chris Henderson and head coach Bobby Houghton, the club finished the season with only 11 wins. However, in only its second year of existence, the club stormed into the

MLS Cup

final, where it lost to defending champion DC United. Colorado finally ascended to the top of MLS in 2010 with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas in overtime. After David Ferreira and Conor Casey traded scores in regulation, Macoumba Kandji made a shot that went off Dallas defender George John in the 107th minute to clinch the victory. Colorado also reached the final 1999

US Open Cup

, which is the longest-running soccer tournament in the country. Casey, who played for Colorado between 2007 and 2012, is the all-time leading scorer with 50 goals in 119 appearances.
