Mike Jeffries will lead the Charlotte Independence in the upcoming 2020 season as head coach as he has done in each of the previous five seasons. Jeffries began the 2019 campaign as general manager with Jim McGuinnis as head coach. However, just one win in the first 14 matches brought Jeffries out of the front office and back onto the field. Jeffries’ accolades as a player include the 1983 Hermann Trophy while a member of the Duke Blue Devils and appearances on the US Men's Soccer team.
