The original members of Chanticleer consisted of Jim Armington, Ted Bakkila, Rob Bell, Louis Botto, Sanford Dole, Kevin Freeman, Tim Gibler, Tom Hart, Jonathan Klein, Neal Rogers, Randall Wong, and Doug Wyatt.

History

Chanticleer was first formed in 1978 by tenor Louis Botto, who performed with the group until 1989. He then served as Artistic Director until his death in 1997. The group was originally comprised of ten singers, but its size has varied between eight and twelve over the years.
