'Bombay Bicycle Club Schedule'

'

Few rock bands today come equipped with such an arsenal of raw musical talent as the indie rock group Bombay Bicycle Club. Don't let their baby faces fool you - they know their music. Hailing from North London, England, the quartet began assembling by the time they were 15. Bombay Bicycle Club consists of frontman Jack Steadman; bassist Ed Nash; drummer Suren de Saram; and Jamie MacColl on guitar, bass, banjo and vocals. Since the band's inception, the group has issued over four records and has topped more than seven music charts globally. Hits such as You Already Know and Always Like This showcase Bombay Bicycle Club's delicate and thoughtful restraint and leave you feeling refreshed in a sense. Simple, catchy, uncomplicated, yet thoughtful, Bombay Bicycle Club is the perfect anecdote to the noise and negativity that plagues most of today's contemporary music.

Bombay Bicycle Club is hitting the tour scene at full force, playing at such renowned venues as Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona; Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, California; Glass House in Pomona, California; The Warfield in San Francisco, California; The Showbox in Seattle, Washington; Starlite Room in Edmonton, Alberta; MacEwan Ballroom in Calgary, Alberta; Garrick Centre at the Marlborough in Winnipeg, Maryland; Park West in Chicago, Illinois; First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kool Haus in Toronto, Ontario; Algonquin College Commons Theatre in Nepean, Ontario; House of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts; 930 Club in Washington, D.C.; Union Transfer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Terminal 5 in New York, New York; Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia; MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida; and Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida.

'Bombay Bicycle Club Background'

'Bombay Bicycle Club embodies the definitive rags-to-riches storyline. Four young teenagers took a chance to get their big break by entering Virgin Mobile's Road To V battle-of-the-bands competition. And, because of their natural talent and sheer determination, they won the contest and earned the coveted opening slot at V Fest the following spring. Yet, these guys didn't let the overwhelming and seemingly overnight success go to their heads. A slew of big-name record labels lined up to sign the hot new act, and they refused them all. They opted instead to self-release their debut album on the humble label, Mmm... It just proved that sometimes you have to think outside the box. Labels have such formulas, you know, frontman Steadman told The Independent in regards to that decision. A smart move to say the least. Bombay Bicycle Club's popularity has been going strong since the 2009 release of their debut I Had the Blues but I Shook them Loose. The band's latest body of work landed them on more than five charts, including grabbing the No. 1 spot on Top Heatseekers. They also yielded spots on major charts like the Billboard 200 (No. 101); Top Independent Albums (No. 23); and Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums (No. 14). Originally known as Crouch End, Bombay Bicycle Club rotated through a handful of names until Ed Nash joined the band in 2006. Named after an Indian food restaurant chain, Bombay Bicycle Club had a sort of hip, eclectic ring to it and so it stuck. We would have picked a better name if we knew that it was going to last for longer than a couple of years, Nash said. Well, it looks like they are going to be carrying that name for a long time!'

'Bombay Bicycle Club Albums'

'Since Bombay Bicycle Club's projection to the main stage, they have released four complete studio albums: I Had the Blues but I Shook them Loose (2009); Flaws (2010); A Different Kind of Fix (2011); and the band's most recent compilation So Long, See You Tomorrow (2014).'

'Bombay Bicycle Club Trivia'

'Although Bombay Bicycle Club is mostly noted as being mellow and humble, they still have managed to get blacklisted at quite a few venues. One of the many shenanigans they pulled was playing naked!'

'Bombay Bicycle Club Concert Experience'

'Ask anyone who has seen Bombay Bicycle Club, and you will get the same responses: Mesmerizing, impressive, brilliant, brimming with energy and fantastic. This quartet has a chemistry and bond that makes for an unequivocal concert that is not only on point but simply fun. With surprise additions of trumpets and saxophones, older hits take on a whole new sound. And, their stage presence is remarkable. Age shouldn't be a factor in musicianship, but you can't help but take note of the maturity that surpasses their mere 24 years. There are many shining moments where the four friends loosen their ties and act their age - and it absolutely makes the show. Amazingly, Bombay Bicycle Club rarely rehearses. It makes our live shows much more spontaneous, drummer Suren de Saram explained to Contact Music. So, it's no surprise that these guys have a long future of touring in front of them.
