Starring Bob the Drag Queen, Shady Queens is a benefit show for the Fife House, known as the largest provider of affordable supportive housing and services for people above the age of 16 living with HIV/AIDS in Canada. All proceeds raised from the event go straight to the Fife House in Toronto, Canada.
Born in Columbus, Georgia, in 1986, Christopher Caldwell – also known as Bob the Drag Queen – always had an urge to design. When he was younger, he would create purses and wallets out of newspaper and hand them out to strangers. Growing up, Bob’s favorite classes were dance, acting and stand-up comedy. His mother (and biggest fan) owned a drag queen bar and was the one to push him to do what he loved doing – drag.
As he grew older, he began working at a children’s theater and eventually earned his drag credentials after watching the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Before labeling himself as Bob the Drag Queen in 2013, he went by the name of Kittin Whitawhip.
Famously known for his participation in season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race, he stole the spotlight by winning three challenges and his hilarious personality shone through to win him the crown. Awarded “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on the finale in 2016, he has been working on many different projects, including the release of his first single, “Purse First,” and music videos “The Realness,” “Purse First” and “Straight Outta Oz.” He has a web series called Untucked, a companion show to RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Bob is also an avid supporter of numerous charities, including AIDS research, queer elderly and youth involvement and more. He even has his own fundraising initiative called Charity for the People.
Accompanying Bob—who is the winner of season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race—will be fan favorites William, Courtney Act, Alaska and more. Not only will audience members see the show of a lifetime, but VIP meet & greet tickets with a professional photographer are also available.
Bob the Drag Queen is hilarious, fun and entertaining – as are performers like Amy Schumer and Ali Wong. Buy tickets from StubHub to see these comedians light up the stage with jokes, stories and charisma.
