Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton formed with Blue Man Group organization in 1987 and immediately began playing gigs around Manhattan at venues such as Central Park, the Performing Garage, and Dixon Place. Their big break came when they were commissioned by The CLUB @ La MaMa to create a full-length show and their resulting effort Tubes was reviewed by notorious New York Times critic Stephen Holden. Blue Man Group went on to perform at the legendary venue Lincoln Center and their performance Serious Fun won an Obie Award and a Lucille Lortel Award. This incredible success garnered them a spot at the Astor Place Theater on Broadway. It was there that they cultivated their signature behavior of never breaking character while in their theatrical make-up-- an androgynous bald-headed, completely blue look-- and acting as if they are aliens from a different, pre-technological world, even going as far to publicly gawk at newfangled gadgets like cell phones or cameras. This comedic farce served to further propagate their mystique and codify their otherworldly personae and sound.

Blue Man Group takes the stage at the stunning Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in scenic Honolulu, Hawaii this summer for eight awe-inspiring performances. Widely regarded at the premiere venue in Hawaii, the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, named after the former mayor of Hawaii, has hosted such music icons as Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jackson Browne, and Elvis Presley, who sold out the Arena throughout the 60's and 70's and filmed his famous Aloha from Hawaii concert there in 1973.
