History

Comedy itself has been a staple of human society for thousands of years, with it's earliest recorded beginnings dating back to 425 BC with a Greek playwright known as Aristophanes who was responsible for writing forty comedies, of which eleven have survived and actually continue to be performed to this day. While this is some of the earliest known comedic work, it is likely that comedy has been around even longer than that, and has it's earliest roots much further back than that.
