Nocturnal Wonderland first took place in 1995 and its sister event, the Electric Daisy Carnival, in 1997. In 2010, the Electric Daisy Carnival reached 185,000 attendees over two days. Beyond Wonderland debuted in 2010 to a sold-out crowd. The EDC had to be moved to Las Vegas in 2011 to accommodate attendance and reached mainstream status when the Las Vegas Mayor declared June 20-26, 2011, as Electric Daisy Carnival Week.
