The only collegiate football bowl game to host all three military academy football teams, the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl has been played annually since 2003. Then called the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl, the inaugural 2003 game featured a matchup between the

The Armed Forces Bowl has been held at Texas Christian University’s Amon G. Carter Stadium every year since 2003, except in 2010 and 2011. Amon G. Carter Stadium is the home of the TCU Horned Frogs and has a seating capacity of 45,000 people. The stadium boasts clean facilities, comfortable seating and incredible sightlines.
The Armed Forces Bowl packs out the Amon G. Carter Stadium. The inaugural 2003 game was attended by 38,028 people. Many Armed Forces Bowl games since then have boasted more than 40,000 people. 2018’s matchup between the
Army Black Knights
and the
Houston Cougars
broke the attendance record with 44,738 attendees.
At the Armed Forces Bowl, you’ll join more than 40,000 college football fans at the Amon G. Carter Stadium. The bowl celebrates the Armed Forces, presenting the annual Great American Patriot Award at halftime each year. All five branches of military service are honored in some way at the game. Previous games have included military skydiving teams, showcases of armed forces hardware, performances by armed forces bands and honor guards, flyovers and more.

The 2018 matchup between the Houston Cougars and the Army Black Knights tied the 2008

for the greatest margin of victory in a bowl game. The Black Knights took the victory with an astounding 70 points to the Cougars' 14. The 2017 Armed Forces Bowl game featured a matchup between the
San Diego State Aztecs
and the Army Black Knights. The Black Knights won this game as well, scoring 42 points to the Aztecs’ 35.
