Known by its fans and supporters as La Albicelestes, or The White and Sky Blue, Argentina’s National Soccer team is one of the true behemoths in the history of international soccer, boasting two World Cup wins, 21 Copa América victories and 44 total trophies signifying first place in international tournaments. In addition, the Argentinian National team has twice been able to finish as runners-up in the World Cup, once in 1990 against what was then West Germany and again in 2014 against Germany proper. As the home of an impressive list of legends in the sport, like Diego Maradona, Alfredo Di Stefano, Mario Kempes and Lionel Messi, and a group of other high-caliber players, like Hernan Crespo, Sergio Aguero, Javier Mascherano and Daniel Passarella, the Argentina team is consistently on the list of favorites to win the World Cup whenever one comes around.
