Since its origin in 2009, American Ninja Warrior fans have been able to follow the action through 11 TV seasons, two champions and thousands of hopeful competitors. Hosts Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Zuri Hall have introduced contestants who plan to jump, roll and propel themselves to victory through a grueling obstacle course. A spin-off of a favorite Japanese television series, Sasuke, American Ninja Warrior competitions have taken place across the United States, concluding at the finals in Las Vegas, Nev. In its fourth season, NBC began broadcasting city and national finals episodes. Aside from the glory and status of becoming an American Ninja Warrior, contestants can win cash prizes of up to $1 million. In 2020, the series will begin its 12th season, returning to locations such as Los Angeles, Calif.; St. Louis, Mo.; and newly added Washington, D.C. After multiple qualifying rounds and finals, participants begin to become attached to their favorite American Ninja Warrior contestants. Flip Rodriguez made it into the hearts of viewers in 2015 and made it all the way to Stage 2 of Finals in 2019. Chris Wilczewski has been a staple competitor since Season Two, as well as Jamie Rahn. Only two competitors have ever earned the title of Champion: Isaac Caldiero in Season Seven and Drew Drechsel in Season 11. Fans are dedicated to their chosen competitors and go all out to support them.

Multiple dates are set to be included in the 2020 schedule of American Ninja Warrior live audience opportunities. American Ninja Warrior will be in Los Angeles on March 13-14, Washington, D.C., April 6-7 and 11-12, St. Louis on May 5-6 and 10-11 and Las Vegas in early June.

What is it like to attend an American Ninja Warrior competition?

Individuals can attend an American Ninja Warrior event as part of a live audience. The location of the American Ninja Warrior city finals is modified every season. In Season One through Season Three, the sole location for competitions was Los Angeles, Calif. Other locations for prior seasons include Miami, Fla.; Houston, Texas; Philadelphia, Pa; Cleveland, Ohio and the

Tacoma Dome

in Tacoma, Wash., to name a few. Now, in Season 12, American Ninja Warrior city finals will take place in Los Angeles, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

How do participants qualify to experience the American Ninja Warrior competition?

Every year, Regional Qualifying Rounds are held at one or more US locations. Applicants are assigned various regions based on their state of residence, while National Finals are always held at a location in Las Vegas. Applicants must be legal US residents, at least 19 years of age, in good health, available to participate in an assigned regional qualifying round and able to submit a digital photo and video with an application. When contestants are selected, they commit to attending city finals until they are eliminated through qualifying events.
