The program offers tattoo removal, mental health programs, education, and job training. Homeboy Industries runs several other small businesses that employ the young adults it helps including: Homeboy Bakery, Homeboy/Homegirl Merchandise, Homegirl Cafe and Catering, Homeboy Farmers Markets, Homeboy Silkscreen and Embroidery, The Homeboy Diner at City Hall, and Homeboy Grocery. Power 106 has long been a presence on the airwaves in the Los Angeles area, the signal at 105.9 first began broadcast in 1959 with an easy listening format, but changed to its current format in 1986 after the station was bought by Emmis Communications.
