The Fillmore Detroit is located in downtown Detroit on Woodward Avenue. The building was originally built in 1925 as a movie house. Since then, it has been restored to be a place for live musical performances and special events. It still retains the history of the original building with original chandeliers and hardwood floors, though. The Fillmore Detroit features musicians such as
Pop Evil
and
Lil Skies
. The venue also hosts some of the most famous up-and-coming comedians in the industry, such as
Chelsea Handler
and
Ali Wong
. Guests can see music and dance performances, too, such as
The Empire Strips Back
, which is a Star Wars burlesque parody show. Get The Fillmore Detroit tickets at StubHub for any upcoming show or musical performance.
There is parking available in the Supreme Parking on Elizabeth Street and across the street in Comerica Parking which is behind Hockey Town.
Age restrictions will depend on the particular show, and children under the minimum age will not be admitted even if they have an accompanying adult. If there's an age restriction, a valid, government-issued photo ID is required as proof of age. To check if there is an age restriction, look at The Fillmore's homepage or on the StubHub ticket center.
For The Fillmore Detroit events, there are several types of ADA accommodations, some of which include seating on the first floor for those in wheelchairs or for those who cannot walk up stairs. This venue also allows service dogs and miniature horses, although it doesn't allow emotional support animals. Guests can contact the box office ahead of time to set up additional accommodations for people with hearing and vision impairments.
There is a snack bar available from which patrons can buy food during the show. Otherwise, you can also bring a small, unopened snack such as a pack of gluten-free cookies if you have diabetes.
There are both mezzanine and balcony seats. Plus, with premium seating you can purchase for the year, you get several upgrades. With premium seating, you get to choose a seat rather than being assigned a seat. You also get access to amenities such as a wait service, private bar, private entrance and concierge.
There are several nearby restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat. Some of these include Bookies Bar and Grill, Elwood, Rusted Crow, Hockeytown Cafe and Brass Rail Pizza Bar.
There are a few other places in the area for entertainment, including the Detroit Opera House, National Automotive History Collection, Fox Theater and Ford Field. The Fillmore is also near the GM Renaissance Center and The Guardian Building, an Art-Deco style building with shops.
