Trivia

From 1990 through 1993, the stadium was known as the Florida Suncoast Dome, then was named the Thunderdome from 1993 through 1996 before being renamed Tropicana Field. The stadium was built with baseball in mind even though the Rays did not move in until 1998, as it was originally meant to attempt to lure the Chicago White Sox to move to Tampa while they were having problems getting a new stadium in the Windy City.
