Xfinity Theatre is a performing arts venue in Hartford, Connecticut. It has both an indoor and outdoor portion, and it's one of the largest theaters of its kind in the nation. It was opened in 1995, with the original name of the Meadows Music Theatre. A few different changes took place related to the naming rights as it was also called the New England Dodge Music Center and the Comcast Theatre before adopting its current name. A wide range of artists perform at the Xfinity Theatre, including
Dave Matthews Band
,
Wiz Khalifa
and
Heart
. This theater has a convenient location near Interstate 91, just north of Downtown Hartford. Ample free parking is available, and premium parking is available for a fee. Find the best tickets for Xfinity Theatre events at StubHub.
Gates typically open an hour and a half prior to the start of the show. Parking lots generally open up three hours before the scheduled gate opening. Tailgating is allowed though open flames and glass containers are not.
Regular-sized bags and backpacks are allowed. Outside food is also allowed as long as it's packed into a clear, one-gallon ziplock bag. Up to one gallon of water can be brought in if the container still has the factory seal on it. Empty bottles are allowed in case you want to refill a bottle at the venue. Collapsible, non-metal pointed umbrellas are permitted. Note that hard-sided coolers, glass containers and alcohol cannot be carried in.
All of the scheduled events take place, rain or shine. If you have lawn seats, plan accordingly.
A full selection of food and beverages are available. Two food trucks - Drewski's Grilled Cheese and North Border Taco - are usually stationed at the Xfinity Theatre, and the Guy Fieri Burger Joint is located in the main plaza. Fresh Market is where you can stop by to pick up snacks and drinks. Alcoholic drinks sold include beer, cider, wine, sparkling wine and cocktails.
The Xfinity Theatre's seating capacity is 30,000. Indoors, there are 7,500 seats that have assigned locations. The outdoor lawn area is where 22,500 more people can sit, and this is open during the summer months. Lawn seating operates on a first come, first served basis. If you prefer not to sit on the ground, you may bring your own lawn chairs (which can be no higher than 9 inches off the ground), or you can rent one at the venue.
