5th Avenue Theatre
The 5th Avenue Theatre was the birthplace of
Hairspray
. It's also one of the first stages on which
Memphis
was performed. In addition to these two hits, seven other shows with early ties to this Seattle theater have gone on to become Broadway productions. The venue, which features Chinese themes and seats for 2,130 people, opened as a vaudeville house in 1926 and later became a movie theater. The theater was given a new life in the 1980s when it began welcoming touring Broadway productions, such as
Annie
. Today, in addition to hosting Broadway shows, the theater also puts on its own musical productions; several of these originals have become famous throughout the country. Get the best seats for The 5th Avenue Theatre events when you buy your tickets at StubHub.
