The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is one of the oldest professional gridiron football teams in the world. Originally founded by the Argonaut Rowing Club in 1873 (which served as the owner until 1957), the team slowly evolved from an early form of rugby into its current incarnation. Before joining the CFL, it was part of the Ontario Rugby Football Union in 1883 and then the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union in 1907. The Argonauts won the first of a record 17
Grey Cup
victories over the University of Toronto in 1914. In its most dominant stretch, Toronto won three-straight titles between 1945 and 1947 and again in 1950 and 1952. Despite a 30-year drought, Toronto climbed to the top of the CFL again in 1983 and 1991, then won two-straight cups in 1996 and 1997 with CFL great and college legend Doug Flutie at the helm. Damon Allen, who played for the Argonauts between 2003 and 2007, is the all-time passing leader in all of professional football history. If you want to experience the team’s rich legacy, then you should purchase Toronto Argonaut tickets at StubHub.

'The matchup between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats is one of the premier rivalries in the CFL. The teams meet several times every year, including a guaranteed matchup in early September for the Labour Day Classic. There have been several memorable moments in the history of the rivalry. Damon Allen, who had previously played for the Tiger-Cats in 1992, surpassed Warren Moon for all-time passing yards in the 2006 Labour Day Classic.'
'The Toronto Argonauts named Ryan Dinwiddie as the new head coach on December 13th, 2019. Dinwiddie had previously played quarterback for Boise State between 2000 and 2003 under head coach Dan Hawkins. In his senior year, he passed for 4,356 yards, 31 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. After graduation, Dinwiddie had a brief stint on the Chicago Bears practice squad, then played for Winnipeg and Saskatchewan between 2006 and 2011. After his retirement, he became a quarterback coach for Montreal and Calgary, with which he won a Grey Cup in 2018.'
