'The Saskatchewan Roughriders is one of the oldest professional gridiron football teams in the world. It evolved from the Regina Rugby Club — the first organized football team of any kind to play in Saskatchewan — which was founded in 1910. The football team adapted the name Roughriders in 1924. After the Moose Jaw and Saskatoon clubs folded in 1948, the Roughriders changed its name from Regina to Saskatchewan to reflect the fact that it was the sole football team remaining in the province. Saskatchewan has won four Grey Cup championships in its history. It clinched the first title in 1966 over the Ottawa Rough Riders 29-14 at Vancouver’s Empire Stadium. After four subsequent Grey Cup losses, Saskatchewan returned to the top of the CFL in 1989 with a thrilling 43-40 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Dave Ridgway’s 35-year field goal with nine seconds left sealed the victory. Saskatchewan won two more titles in 2007 and 2013. The last victory took place in front of the home fans. 'How did Saskatchewan finish the last season?'

'Saskatchewan finished the 2019 regular season at the top of the West Division with 26 points and a record of 13-5. After receiving a bye in the first round, the Roughriders lost to eventual champion Winnipeg in the Division Finals by a score of 20-13. Winnipeg jumped out to a quick 10-1 lead in the first quarter and never relinquished it. The matchup was the first time since 1972 that the teams had met in the Western Final.'

'Who is Saskatchewan’s biggest rival?'

'Saskatchewan shares an intense rivalry with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from nearby Manitoba. The annual Labour Day matchup between the Roughriders and the Blue Bombers has been called the Banjo Bowl since 2004, but the rivalry stretches back even further to the early days of Canadian football. Saskatchewan also maintains a rivalry with the nearby Calgary Stampeders.'

'Who is Saskatchewan’s head coach?'

'Craig Dickenson became the 47th head coach of the Roughriders on Jan. 25, 2019. He began his coaching career with his alma mater, the University of Montana, in 1995. Since then, he has been the running back coach or the special teams coach for an array of different teams, including the San Diego Chargers, Calgary Stampeders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Edmonton Eskimos. He joined the Saskatchewan coaching staff in 2016, following a brief stint with the team in 2011 and 2012.'

Carrying the same name as the old Mosaic Stadium, the new venue features a translucent partial roof, lounges, loge seating, 38 corporate suites and individual seats with cup holders. The lower bowl, which contains more than 65% of all seats, is situated below the ground level. The south end zone features a standing room area with a relaxed atmosphere, known as Pil Country, for fans to gather.
