'Robert Cray Band Tickets'

'Born in Columbus, Ga., in 1953, Robert Cray got his start in music playing in a band in high school called The One-Way Street. Later, he moved with his family to Tacoma, Wash., and by the time he finished high school, he had attended concerts by blues greats of the time like Muddy Waters, Freddie King and Albert Collins, cementing his desire to start his own band. After playing with a group of musicians around West Coast college towns, he moved to Eugene, Oreg., in the '70s where he met Curtis Salgado and started the Robert Cray Band, which continues to tour around the world.'

. Cray has opened for legendary acts like Eric Clapton and recorded tracks for other legends like John Lee Hooker. Cray has also played with Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Vaughan. Fender named two guitars after Cray: the Robert Cray Custom Shop Stratocaster and the Robert Cray Standard Stratocaster. In 2011, the Blues Hall of Fame added Robert Cray as a new inductee, and in 2017, he was awarded the Americana Music Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance.
