Color Me Badd have also been cast as themselves in some of the most popular television series of the '90s, including Beverly Hills, 90210.

Born Artis Leon Ivey, Jr. on August 1st, 1963, Coolio is a celebrated U.S. hip-hop artist, record producer, actor, and chef. He would find widespread success and popularity in the '90s on the strength of such albums as 1994's It Takes a Thief, 1995's Gangsta's Paradise, and 1997's My Soul. He is most well-known for Gangsta's Paradise, his hit single from 1995 that won a Grammy Award. Other popular Coolio tracks include 1994's Fantastic Voyage, 1997's C U When U Get There, and 1996's 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New). Another well-known Coolio performance is his rapping on the title theme of Kenan & Kel, a Nickelodeon show in the late '90s. Since his '90s fame, Coolio has independently released a number of albums. He has also trained as a chef, published a cookbook, and launched an online video series called Cookin' with Coolio.

Born Robert Matthew Van Winkle on October 31st, 1967, Vanilla Ice has established himself as a hip-hop artist, television host, and actor. He was born in Dallas, and he grew up in South Florida as well as Texas. In 1989, Vanilla Ice dropped his album debut, Hooked, via Ichiban Records. He then landed a record deal with the SBK label, a subsidiary of the major EMI label through which he issued a remastered edition of his debut, titled To the Extreme. In 1990, Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby topped the Billboard mainstream charts – the first time a rap single had done so. Though the rapper found great success, he came to regret the strictures of his SBK contract. The label had directed him to take on a more mainstream, commercial image in order to attract the widest possible audience. The label also published false biographical details about Vanilla Ice without his consent or knowledge. After unsuccessfully attempting suicide, Vanilla Ice decided to reinvent his life and his musical style. Although his subsequent, more independent-minded LPs did not earn much airplay or attain significant sales, the rapper has maintained a devoted underground fan base. In 2009, he launched a series called The Vanilla Ice Project, broadcast on the DIY Network. Vanilla Ice's most recent LP is WTF – Wisdom, Tenacity & Focus, which hit the shelves in August of 2011. Currently, he is one the roster of Psychopathic Records.

Later, Deidra DJ Spinderella Roper took over Hanson's position. Salt N Pepa were among the first rap outfits comprised entirely of female performers. Throughout their career, the group have garnered five awards: Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the Grammy Awards in 1995; Best Electronic Dance Music Video, Best Choreography, and Best R&B Video at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1994; and the Icon Award at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2010.

Anthony Terrell Smith hails from Los Angeles. His mother is Margaret Smith, who was the manager of a retirement residence, and his father his James Smith. Smith is best-known as Tone Loc, the gravelly voiced hip-hop artist who has released such platinum hit singles as Funky Cold Medina and Wild Thing. He was also the voice of Fud Wrapper, an animatronic host on the program Food Rock (aired between 1994 and 2004 on Epcot). In this role, Tone Loc performed the track Always Read the Wrapper, which parodied his own number Funky Cold Medina. Tone Loc's tune Ace Is in the House was featured in the 1994 movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and the 2009 follow-up Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective.
