Notre Dame Stadium

Notre Dame Stadium Tickets

Home to the University of Notre Dame's Fighting Irish football team, this venue, which opened in 1930, is located on the university's campus. Memorable Notre Dame Stadium events have included outdoor ice hockey matches and rugby games. In October 2018, Garth Brooks performed in the stadium's first concert. Official seating capacity is over 77,000, and in the past, the stadium has been able to hold more than 80,000 spectators. Over the years, it has gone through several renovations. Portable lighting was first used in 1982, and permanent lights went up in 1997. Viewing Touchdown Jesus is an iconic part of the stadium experience. Though not technically in the stadium, this mural, painted on the nearby Hesburgh Library, depicts Jesus with his hands raised as if giving the signal for a touchdown. Where is the stadium located?

For GPS purposes, the address is 2010 Moose Krause Circle in Notre Dame, Indiana. It's relatively central on campus, just west of the Law School. It's close to the school's other athletic facilities, including the Joyce Center and the Compton Family Ice Arena.

Are there accommodations for people with limited mobility?

Some sections of the stadium have wheelchair-accessible seats. For each person in a wheelchair or scooter, one companion can also sit in this location. To access the upper level, there are elevators located on the east side of the stadium.

What's the seating arrangement of Notre Dame Stadium?

Notre Dame Stadium seating is fairly straightforward. Legendary coach Knute Rockne oversaw the construction of the facility, and the venue feels intimate because he requested minimal space between the sidelines and the first row of seats. Some select areas on either side of the 50-yard line provide premium seats. Otherwise, the lower area runs from sections 1 to 36, and the upper part of the area includes sections 101 through 136.

What are some nearby venues and facilities on campus?

In January 2018, several buildings surrounding the stadium were opened. The Duncan Student Center has a gym, event spaces and several eateries; this building is on the west side of the stadium. To the south is O'Neill Hall, which has a performance hall and the stadium's club lounge. Corbett Family Hall is on the east side of the stadium. It houses the press box as well as a media center, studio and classrooms.

What are the dining options?

Basic concessions can be found throughout the stadium, so fans can enjoy items like hot dogs, chips and popcorn while attending an event. Either before or after going to the stadium, you can head south to find eateries at the Eddy Street Commons or go east to find more restaurants near Ironwood Drive. For a classic university experience, visit the iconic restaurant Legends of Notre Dame on North Eddy Street.
