The Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is located in Annapolis, Md., and is used for both football and lacrosse. The stadium type is open-air, and a notable event held here is the
Military Bowl
. The capacity of the stadium is around 34,000 and reached a record attendance of about 39,000 when the Midshipmen played the
Air Force Falcons
. There are two decks for seating and an immense amount of turf room for brigades, bands and honor sections for pregame and postgame events. The stadium has high-rise seats on one side and a major press box on the other. A truly historical venue, the stadium has also hosted some soccer games during the 1984 Summer Olympics.
''One of the unique events that take place at Navy football games is the arrival of the team to the stadium. Players are led by squad cars, security and the fire department as they travel to the venue. Then, before the game, the Midshipmen Brigade comes together in Tecumseh Court for a traditional march into the stadium to commence the game. Another incredible tradition that takes place when the Midshipmen play is the flying of jets over the stadium. Four F-18 fighter jets scream over the heads of the crowds of people to signify the importance of the military and to honor the values of those who give their service for the United States.'
