In one of its most recent games, a Concacaf Nations League A game against Bermuda which they ultimately won 2-1, the Mexican National Soccer Team used a 4-4-2 formation involving the following players: goalkeeper Hugo Gonzalez (rather than the much more highly capped Guillermo Ochoa), defenders Héctor Moreno, Edson Álvarez, Cristian Calderón and Jorge Sánchez; midfielders Érick Aguirre (later replaced by Rodolfo Pizarro), Luís Romo, Orbelín Pineda (later replaced by Roberto Alvarado) and Uriel Antuna; and forwards José Macías (later replaced by Raúl Jiménez) and Francisco Córdova.
Mexico recently played two Concacaf Nations League A matches against Panama and Bermuda on Nov. 15 and Nov. 19, 2019, respectively. The team defeated Panama 3-0 and Bermuda 2-1. Before that, the Mexican team played against Panama on Oct. 15, 2019 and Bermuda on Oct. 11, 2019.
The Mexican National Soccer Team is set to play two international friendly games against the Czech Republic and Greece on March 26 and March 29, 2020, respectively. These games will be part of the Mexican team’s 2020 US tour.
