More about Louis C.K.

Born Louis Szթkely to Harvard-educated parents, Louis C.K. had an unusual childhood that probably helped shape his insightful and honest comedic rhetoric. As a toddler, Louis C.K. moved to Mexico with his parents, where he learned Spanish as his mother tongue. A return to the U.S. brought several challenges, including learning English. Watching television inspired Szթkely to want to follow in the footsteps of his idols, including Steve Martin, George Carlin and Richard Pryor.

The father of two children, Louis C.K. understands the ups and downs of parenting that can break even the strongest of wills. He takes this challenging part of life and turns it on its head, his candor at once refreshing and sometimes painfully honest.

Louis C.K.'s break into comedy didn't come easily to him. His first attempt ended in embarrassment, throwing him off his game for a couple of years. Once he regained his confidence, he quickly found his stronghold in the Boston comedy scene, opening for and performing with some of the big names such as Lenny Clarke and Denis Leary.

Stand-up comedy isn't Louis C.K.'s only area of strength. Filling the giant shoes of script writer, voice actor, screen actor, TV producer/actor and screenwriter, Louis C.K. seems to be able to transition seamlessly from one role to the next. He has snagged a bevy of awards for his talents, including a Grammy, the Peabody Award and multiple Emmy Awards. His television success both on-screen and behind the scenes includes series, such as Louie and Better Things, while his voice acting for movies such as The Secret Life of Pets.

Movie roles have given him an opportunity to show his acting skills in their full glory. Trumbo, a film focused on the 1940s Hollywood blacklisting of alleged communist screenwriters and actors proved this guy isn't all laughs.

His talents seem to know no bounds when it comes to keeping people entertained.
